“I wanted to share a recent experience and express my sincere gratitude for your recommendation.
One of my rental properties had an issue with the shower mixer valve, and my tenant called a corporate (venture capitalist owned) plumbing company, which immediately dispatched a service technician. Unfortunately, the technician not only quoted over $800 to fix the mixer valve (offering a mere $50 discount if we acted quickly) but also made alarming claims about the entire HVAC system. He stated that it was emitting carbon monoxide throughout the building, deemed the water heater defective, and suggested replacing both the water heater and my perfectly functioning furnace.
Thankfully, after consulting with you, I reached out to David Passey Plumbing and Heating as you recommended. Their service expert came to the property, fixed the mixer valve for under $300, and conducted a thorough inspection of both the furnace and water heater. He confirmed that the HVAC system was safe, the water heater was in good working condition despite its age, and there were no carbon monoxide concerns. He also advised that as long as the water heater was functioning and located near a drain, there was no immediate need for replacement.
It’s truly disheartening that some corporate plumbing organizations resort to fear tactics and misinformation to exploit people, attempting to pressure them into unnecessary and costly services.
